The next Asadora " Bakebake " will start on September 29th

The poster visual for the NHK Asadora drama "Bakebake ," starring Akari Takaishi, which will air in the second half of 2025, has been released. It has also been revealed that the first broadcast date has been set for September 29th.

The poster visual features Toki (Takaishi) and Heaven ( Tommy Bastow) holding hands and smiling.

Photographer Kawashima Kotori, who took the visual shoot, recalled, "This time, we were able to shoot in Matsue, a place that holds special memories for the couple. Matsue Castle (Ugabashi Bridge), Yakumo Koizumi former home, Lake Shinji, Shiroyama Inari Shrine, and Gesshoji Temple. As I toured these places and took photos with Toki, played by Takaishi, and Heaven, played by Tommy, I felt like I had really traveled back in time and been taken to the world of their love, and it was a truly heart-warming experience."

Nishizawa Kazuki, who was in charge of the design, commented, "These are the peaceful moments between couples that suddenly appear in their daily lives. I aimed for a restrained and quiet composition in the design so that the poster as a whole would stand out as a single story, while staying true to the worldview of the photograph, which seems to have captured that moment. I would be happy if it leaves a soft impression in the hearts of those who see it."

"Bakebake " is the story of a couple who, together with her foreign husband, love ghost stories and shed light on the "nameless people" who had been forgotten in Meiji-era Japan as it became increasingly Westernized, and who acted as spokespeople for them. Takaishi plays the heroine, Toki Matsuno , the daughter of a fallen samurai from Matsue, modeled after Yakumo Koizumi Lafcadio Hearn 's wife, Setsu. The script is written by Fujiki Mitsuhiko, who has worked on NHK's "Asagaya Sisters' Laid-Back Life" and WOWOW's "Shooting Break Series," among others.
