It has been revealed that Disney and Pixar's latest film, "When I Become a Beaver," which is the studio behind "Toy Story" and "Coco," will be released in spring 2026.
Directed by Daniel Chung (Inside Out), the film tells the story of an animal-loving girl named Mabel who uses a method invented by scientists to "hop" a human's consciousness into a realistic robot animal, and then "hops" into a beaver-shaped robot animal, where she goes on to unravel mysteries of the animal kingdom that are beyond imagination.
Director Chung, who was inspired by Takahata Isao's masterpiece "Pom Poko," commented, "Pixar has previously depicted various 'what if' worlds from the perspective of fish or animals. In this film, we create a new 'what if' world by using a very unique method of depicting both the human and animal perspectives simultaneously."
