The second season of the TV anime "The Detective is Already Dead" will air in 2026

It has been announced that the second season of the TV anime "The Detective is Already Dead," based on the light novel from MF Bunko J (KADOKAWA), "The Detective is Already Dead. Season 2," will be broadcast in 2026. A teaser visual has been released showing the already deceased Siesta standing next to a monitor that shows her.

The main staff will continue from the first season, with Manabu Kurihara as director, Deko Akao as series composer, and Yosuke Ito as character designer. ENGI will be producing the series, following the first season.

"The Detective is Already Dead" is a popular light novel that won the top prize at the 15th MF Bunko J Light Novel Newcomer Award. The story follows the protagonist Kimizuka Kimihiko and the brilliant detective Siesta, who meet at 10,000 meters in the sky and spend three years together on an adventure before they part ways by death, but the assistant who lost the detective rises up again... The first season of the TV anime aired from July to September 2021.
