Competitive swimmer Ikee Rikako will be appearing on Kuroyanagi Tetsuko's long-running talk show "Tetsuko's Room" (TV Asahi), which will be broadcast at 1:00 p.m. on July 23rd.
His first appearance on the show was 8 years ago, when he was a second-year high school student. About a year and a half after that appearance, when he was a third-year high school student, he was diagnosed with leukemia. He looks back on his feelings at the time and his first time in the pool after being discharged from the hospital. He overcame the serious illness and competed in the Tokyo and Paris Olympic Games.
Aiming to improve her swimming ability, she moved to Australia and is practicing hard every day. She has a disciplined lifestyle, waking up early and going to bed around 8:30 pm. She also shares that she loves tidying and cleaning. She talks about her new challenges, wanting people to see her true face as a person, not just as an athlete.
