"Hinatazaka46" member Yoko Shogenji selects episodes from "GeGeGe no Kitaro: My Favorite GeGeGe"

It has been revealed that Yoko Shogenji of the idol group "Hinatazaka46" will be the "selector" who will choose the episodes to be broadcast for the TV anime "GeGeGe no Kitaro : My Beloved GeGeGe." The show will be broadcasting episodes selected by famous people connected to Kitaro from the first to sixth seasons of the TV anime " GeGeGe no Kitaro ," which is based on the manga by the Shigeru Mizuki , from April. Shogenji, a big fan of " GeGeGe no Kitaro," will be participating as the new selector.

Shogenji has openly declared his love for Kitaro on television programs and in his blog, and when he decided to select the episodes this time, he rewatched all the episodes of seasons 5 and 6. Episode 29 of season 5, "Cat Girl's Yokai Bus Tour," selected by Shogenji, will be broadcast on August 3, episode 6 of season 6, "Unlucky Knee Rub," on August 24, and episode 38 of season 5, "Ratman Becomes a Dad," the final episode, on September 21.

"GeGeGe no Kitaro" is a manga in which the main character Kitaro faces various incidents with his unique fellow monsters, Ratman and Sunakakebaara. The first season of the TV anime was broadcast in 1968-69, and it has been loved for over half a century since then. The sixth season, the first new work in about nine years since the fifth season, was broadcast on Fuji TV and other stations from April 2018 to March 2020, and became a hot topic for its depiction of black companies, social media addiction, immigration issues, etc., and Neko Musume with a model figure, also gained popularity.
