On July 17th, actors Sadao Abe and Takako Matsu attended a press conference at TV Asahi's headquarters (Minato Ward, Tokyo) for the drama series "Shiawase na Kekkon " (TV Asahi, Thursdays 9pm), which will begin airing that evening. They promoted the drama, whose first broadcast is approaching.
The drama is an original work by Shizuka Oishi , who also wrote the much talked about NHK historical drama " Dear Radiance (Hikaru Kimi e) " last year. Single lawyer Harada Kotaro (Abe) is attracted to and marries Suzuki Nerla (Matsu), a mysterious high school art teacher, but Nerla is hiding a serious secret. The family drama is billed as a "marriage suspense" that questions the love between husband and wife. The first episode will be six minutes longer.
Abe said, "Although it's advertised as a marriage suspense story, it may not be what everyone thinks, and that may be what makes it interesting. I think many viewers will be surprised by how the story unfolds. It defies expectations in a good way, so I hope everyone will watch it."
Matsu said that she had not been confident until today, but when she appeared with Abe on several of the network's information programs to promote the show, she heard the cast members who had seen the preview say that it was "interesting," which made her think, "Maybe it'll be okay." She expressed her expectations, saying, "I realized that we're filming a new drama, with parts that go against expectations in a good way. I hope that everyone will find that appealing."
