"Elio" - Scene from the start of the adventure revealed

A scene from the new Disney and Pixar animated film "Elio" (released August 1st) featuring aliens played by a stellar cast of Japanese voice actors, depicting the beginning of an adventure in the colorful and beautiful universe known as the "Communiverse", was released on July 16th.

The protagonist of "Elio" is a boy named Elio who loves space and feels lonely after losing his parents, who were his biggest supporters. Elio believes that somewhere in this vast world, there must be a "true place for him to belong". His sad wish is answered, and he is invited to the dreamlike "Comniverse" where representatives of the stars gather. There, he meets Grodon, an alien boy who is just as lonely. The two share a bond, but a threat that will shake up the "world of the stars" approaches. The key to their salvation lies in a "promise" made by the two lonely people... This is the story.

The directors are Madeline Sharafian, who served as a story artist on "Coco" (2017), Domme Shi, director of "Me and the Red Panda" (2022), and Adrian Molina, who wrote and co-directed "Coco". The Japanese voice actors are Eito Kawahara as Elio, Tasuku Sato as Grodon, Nana Seino as his aunt Olga, and Kenichi Matsuyama as Grodon's father and villain, Glygon.

The released footage shows Elio's eyes sparkling at the colorful and beautiful scenery of Communiverse, the "world of stars" that he has always longed for. The "world of stars" is depicted with Pixar's overwhelming visual beauty, and the unique aliens played by Japanese voice actors such as talent Kayo Noro, voice actors Miyuki Sawashiro, and Tomokazu Seki Seki also appear, showing the beginning of Elio's moving adventure.
