The synopsis and scene cuts for the second episode of the drama series "The Kidnapping Day" (TV Asahi, Tuesdays 9pm), starring actor Takumi Saito, have been released.
Masamune Shinjo (Saito) kidnaps the hospital director's daughter, Rin Nanase (Yuno Nagao), with the plan of his wife, Shiori (Yumi Adachi), in order to raise the medical expenses for his daughter Mei (Yuno Nagao) who has a heart disease. However, Rin has lost her memory, and her parents, the hospital director and his wife, have been murdered by someone.
Although Rin has not regained her memory, she notices something strange and questions Shinjo, asking, "Who are you? Who am I?" Shinjo finally gives up and confesses that he kidnapped Rin and that her parents were murdered by someone.
Shocked at learning the truth, Rin leaves Shinjo and heads to the police station alone. Just before arriving at the station, Rin sees a police car and is shocked as she briefly remembers the day she was kidnapped. On the day she lost her memory, Rin was desperately running away from "something" and saw the lights of a police car in front of her house. The possibility that a police officer is the culprit emerges, and Rin chooses to run away with Shinjo.
Detective Tsukasa Sunouchi (Yōsuke Eguchi) feels something is off about the image of Shinjō and Rin captured on security cameras. It is because it was Rin who was running away holding Shinjō's hand. The detectives believe that Shinjō, who has a criminal record for murder, kidnapped Rin and killed her parents, but Sunouchi is the only one who does not believe that Shinjō is merely a kidnapper.
