"Dodge Danpei" official sequel "Honoo no Toukyuujo Dodge Danko" to be made into a TV anime

It has been revealed that "Dodge Danko: Dodge Ball Girl of Flame," the official sequel to "Dodge Danpei: Dodge Ball Boy of Flame," a dodgeball manga by Tetsuhiro Koshita that gained popularity in the 1990s, will be made into a TV anime in 2026. The manga, which centers on Ichigeki Danko, the daughter of Ichigeki Danpei, the protagonist of "Dodge Danpei: Dodge Ball Boy of Flame," began serialization in 2022 on "Weekly CoroCoro Comic," a manga site run by CoroCoro Comic (Shogakukan). The first episode had over 700,000 views, and the latest episode is often trending on X on its update date, making it a popular series.

A visual titled "Soul Inheritance Visual" has been released. It depicts Danko standing with a powerful gaze, saying "Let's go, Danpei Dad!", with his father Danpei's giant gravestone that seems to reach the heavens as his back to him. A Teaser trailer has also been released on YouTube. The video is interspersed with cuts from the original "Dodge Danpei: Blazing Ball Boy" and dynamically depicts the history of fierce battles in "Tokyu", the strongest fighting ball game in history.

To commemorate the TV anime adaptation, a campaign to release all episodes of the series for free has started in "Weekly CoroCoro Comic." The campaign will run until 5:59 PM on July 14th.

"Dodge Danpei" is a dodgeball manga that follows the growth of elementary school student Ikki Danpei as he competes against his rivals in a super dodgeball game. It was serialized in "CoroCoro Comic" from 1989 to 1995. A popular TV anime aired from 1991 to 1992. The official sequel features Danpei's daughter, Danko, as the protagonist, as she struggles to create the strongest fighting dodgeball team in the Reiwa era. Five volumes of the manga have been released so far.
