Actor Hikari Mitsushima attended the completion ceremony for the movie "On the Summer Sands" (directed by Shinya Tamada, to be released on July 4th) held in Tokyo on June 17th. She appeared in a cute, mature black long dress with a ribbon tied around the chest and a softly flared hem.
She paired her black outfit with black short boots. Her hair was neatly tied up in a ponytail, and she added glamour with silver earrings, layered rings, and a statement necklace.
The film is an adaptation of a play by Matsuda Masataka, with actor Joe Odagiri starring and co-producer, and a script by director Tamada. Set in the rainless summer of Nagasaki, Koura Osamu (Odagiri), whose life has stopped due to the sense of loss he feels after losing his son and whose wife has abandoned him, ends up living with his niece Yuko (Akari Takaishi), who was left behind by his younger sister Kawakami Asako (Mitsushima). The film depicts how they find a small sprout of hope in a heart as dry as summer sand.
Also appearing at the event were Odagiri, Akari Takaishi, Takako Matsu, Fumiya Takahashi Naotaro, Ken Mitsuishi, and director Tamada.
