54-year-old talent Mari Watanabe will be appearing on Tetsuko Kuroyanagi's long-running talk show "Tetsuko's Room" (TV Asahi), which will be broadcast at 1:00 pm on June 25th.
She debuted in 1986 at the age of 15 as member number 36 of the Onyanko Club, and next year will mark her 40th anniversary. This year marks the 20th anniversary of her marriage to Nagura Jun of the comedy trio Neptune, and her eldest son is now 17 and her eldest daughter is now 15. Her first appearance on the show was 32 years ago. She blushed at the footage of herself at the age of 22 at the time.
As she entered her fifties, her physical condition began to change. She began to feel uncomfortable just seeing her husband lounging around as usual. She began to experience various symptoms of menopause, and although she was fighting with her teenage daughter and felt depressed about cooking, her husband calmly watched over her. When asked about the secret to her happy marriage, she said, "My husband's efforts and patience," and joyfully described her daily life of overcoming "discomforts."
