8-year-old child actor Nagao Yuno attended the "tvasahi DRAMA FES 2025 Summer" joint press conference for TV Asahi's July drama series, held in Tokyo on June 23rd. Yuno, who will appear in the drama series "The Kidnapping Day" (Tuesdays 9pm) starting on July 8th, was embarrassed when lead actor Saito Takumi revealed an episode of her "slip of the tongue" on set.
Saito said of his impression of co-star Yuno, "Yuno doesn't seem like a child actor at all, she's really professional... I think of her as my senior, even though she's 35 years older than me." He continued, "But sometimes she mistakenly calls me or the director 'Mama'. It's heartwarming (laughs)," to which Yuno nodded and said, "I do make mistakes."
"The Kidnapping Day " is based on a serial drama produced in 2023 by ASTORY, a Korean production company that has produced hits such as "Signal" and "Lawyer Woo Young-woo is a Genius." This human mystery follows a kind-hearted, clumsy kidnapper played by Saito and a genius girl with amnesia played by Yuno as they embark on an unusual escape while being pursued by the police and unidentified men who are somehow targeting the girl. 43-year-old Saito and 8-year-old Yuno form an "unusual buddy" with a 35-year age difference. The Japanese version's script is written by hitmaker Kentaro Ushio, who has worked on TBS's Sunday Theater "Downtown Rocket" and "Hanzawa Naoki."
Also attending the press conference that day were Eguchi Yosuke, who co-stars with him in the drama, as well as Aiba Masaki, Nao Omori, and Nao Matsushita , who appear in the drama series " The Great Chase: Metropolitan Police Department SSBC Violent Crimes Unit" (Wednesdays at 9pm, starting Getsuku ), and Sadao Abe and Takako Matsu , who appear in the drama series " Shiawase na Kekkon " (Thursdays at 9pm, starting July 17th).
