The program "NHK MUSIC SPECIAL Okuda Tamio x Kikkawa Koji - Our Hiroshima", featuring the much talked about group Ooochie Koochie and Kikkawa Koji, will be broadcast on NHK General TV from 10pm on June 19th. Okuda and Kikkawa, who were both born and raised in Hiroshima, turned 60 this year and formed their first group. Why did these two, who are as different in musicality and character as oil and water, team up? And what kind of music will they deliver? We will get to the bottom of it through location shooting during their visit to Hiroshima.
Accompanying them on location was announcer Fumie Ono, who is also from Hiroshima and is the same age as them. They were shown around a music store, a practice studio, a great view point, and even a recommended okonomiyaki restaurant. Bandmates who knew Okuda and Yoshikawa when they were high school students also made an appearance, and one after another, they revealed stories of their mischievous youth.
Why did these two people, who have completely different ways of eating okonomiyaki, their lifestyles, and even the way they make music, team up this time? We will find out the answer and also explore their "love for Hiroshima that they can now talk about."
In addition, three songs will be performed on television for the first time, including the disco tune "GOLD," which was the first song that Okuda and Yoshikawa worked on.
