"Akina Nakamori Tribute Night! Night 2," a special feature on singer Akina Nakamori on NHK's music program "The Covers," was broadcast on NHK BS and BS Premium 4K on June 8th, and viewers were excited when Nakamori herself appeared at the end of the concert.
"Akina Nakamori Tribute Night!" features footage of the "Akina Nakamori Tribute Concert "Akikyo"" held at LINE CUBE SHIBUYA in Tokyo on May 1st, the 43rd anniversary of Nakamori's debut, as well as rare archive footage of Nakamori and backstage talks after the live performance by concert performers such as Maki Goto, Night Tempo, and Hoshikuzu Scat. The first night was broadcast on June 1st.
The second night was mainly broadcast as the concert was getting more exciting towards the climax. Towards the end, a caption said, "Akina will appear after this!" and Nakamori was shown in the audience. It was her first time in 11 years since the 2014 "Kohaku Uta Gassen" to appear in front of the NHK camera. In response to the thunderous applause, roaring, and loud "Akina calls," Nakamori commented, with the microphone in hand, "Thank you very much. I've been watching since the opening. The talk and the singing of everyone was so wonderful, I have so much to reflect on (laughs)." She blew kisses to the audience in response to the "Akina calls" again.
On social media, viewers expressed their surprise, saying things like, "It's Akina Nakamori! Amazing!", "Wow, Akina has descended," and "I never thought Akina Nakamori herself would appear," as well as comments like, "Akina Nakamori has descended. It really hit me hard," "Even though she's not singing, just hearing her comment makes me want to cry," and "That beautiful, fluffy hair! That elegant mouth! Still the same! Wow! Thank you!"
