The premiere preview of the all-new theatrical version of the popular anime "Assassination Classroom" manga, "Assassination Classroom: Everyone's Time" (directed by Kitamura Masaki, scheduled for release on March 20th), was held on February 22nd at Shinjuku Wald 9 (Shinjuku Ward, Tokyo), with appearances by Fukuyama Jun, who plays Korosensei, Fuchigami Mai, who plays Shiota Nagisa/Hotaru, and Okamoto Nobuhiko, who plays Akabane Karma. The new theatrical version was produced to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the TV anime, and will feature completely new animated versions of episodes that have never been shown on screen before. Fuchigami commented on how he felt when the new theatrical version was announced, saying, "Since it was the 10th anniversary, I was hoping to do something like a web anime or a voice drama, but it turned out to be an animated film, so I was really surprised, like 'No way,' and 'Seriously?!'"
The new movie version has also been a hot topic due to the appearance of a mysterious girl named Hotaru who looks just like Shiota Nagisa, and Fuchigami, who plays Nagisa, will be playing Hotaru. Fuchigami, who will be playing Hotaru, reflected on the recording, saying, "I wondered what to do. When Hotaru first appeared in the original work, I had hoped that I would be able to play her if there was an opportunity to make it into an anime someday, but when it actually came down to it, I didn't know what to do. She's not Nagisa, and she's a girl, so it was difficult, but I was very happy to be able to play her."
"Assassination Classroom" is a manga that was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha) from July 2012 to March 2016.
