NHK's documentary program "Document 72 Hours" (General, Friday 10pm). The June 6th episode is set in a huge university dormitory where half of the residents are international students. What kind of daily life do these multinational students from 94 countries and regions spend under the same roof?
The program on this day was a collaboration with the same station's "Document 20min." The setting was a student dormitory at Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University, located in the mountains of Beppu City, Oita Prefecture.
Half of the dorm residents are international students, from 94 countries and regions, making it a truly multinational experience. Cooking in the communal kitchen where you can see cuisine from all over the world, spending time naked in the large communal bath, and staying up late with friends. Living with people from different cultures can be fun, but it can also be difficult.
We followed them over three days in the spring to see what kind of days they spend living under the same roof.
