It has been announced that the TV anime "SANDA," based on the manga by Itagaki Paru, known for "BEASTARS," will begin airing on October 3rd in the late-night anime slot "Animeism" on MBS, TBS and other networks. Additional cast members have also been announced, including Shoji Umeka as Fuyumura Shiori, who discovers the true identity of the main character Mita Kazue and tries to help her missing best friend, Nagase Anna as Fuyumura's best friend Ono Yuki Shin as Mita's roommate Amaya Isshi, and Misato Matsuoka as Mita's fiancee Kazeo Erko. The second teaser PV, focusing on the classmates who spend their school life with Mita at Daikoku Aigo Academy, has also been released on YouTube.
"SANDA" is a manga serialized in "Weekly Shonen Champion" (Akita Shoten) from July 2021 to July 2024. It is a unique "Santa Claus" hero action story set in a near-future Japan where children are overprotected in an era of extremely low birth rates. The anime will be directed by Tomohisa Shimoyama, director of "Ghost Deco" and "SUPER SHIRO," and produced by Science SARU. Ayumu Murase will play the role of Mita Kazushige, and Tochi Hiroki will play the role of Santa Claus.
