"Anpan" Episode 43: Viewers worry about Jiro who has set sail

The 43rd episode of the NHK Asadora drama "Anpan " starring Mio Imada (General TV, Monday to Saturday 8:00 AM and others) was broadcast on May 28th. In the episode, viewers expressed concern that the behavior of Jiro (Nakajima Ayumu Nakajima), who married Nobu (Imada), "has raised a flag."

In the 43rd episode, Nobu and Jiro had their wedding ceremony at the Asada household. The married couple started a new life in the town of Kochi. However, Jiro was soon to leave on a voyage, so the time they could spend together was limited.

Seeing Jiro packing for the long voyage, Nobu is reminded of her late father, Yutaro (Ryo Kase). Jiro shows Nobu a world map and tells him the route, tracing it with his finger, saying, "From Yokohama to Kobe, Nagasaki, and then... India. Even in winter in Japan, it gets hot there." When Jiro says, "We don't know what will happen beyond the Indian Ocean because of the effects of the war in Europe," Nobu tells him, "Please be careful." After the couple eats a meal, Nobu wraps a scarf around Jiro as he leaves the house, and sends him off with a smile, saying, "I'll be waiting for your safe return. Have a nice trip."

The Pacific War is just around the corner. Many viewers are worried about Jiro as he sets sail, with comments on social media such as, "I'm suspicious and it seems like a bunch of things are just a red flag," "Jiro is such a nice guy, it makes me worried...," "This can't be the end, right?", "This script is so quick to set up and then resolve the red flag, I can't let my guard down," and "I have a bad feeling about this."
