The fifth episode of the TBS Sunday Theatre drama " Caster " (Sunday 9pm) starring actor Hiroshi Abe was broadcast on May 11th, and recorded an average audience rating (according to Video Research, Kanto region, same below) of 10.8% for households and 6.5% for individuals. The household audience rating is up from 10.4% for the fourth episode last week, and has remained in double digits since the first episode.
The drama is a social entertainment set in a TV news program, where the truth buried in the darkness is pursued and evil is punished. Abe plays the unconventional newscaster Soichi Shindo, Nagano Mei plays the general director Hana Mei Nagano , who struggles despite being pushed around by Hana Sakikubo , and Shunsuke Michieda of " Naniwa Danshi " plays Yusuke Motohashi, a rookie assistant director aspiring to be a journalist who respects Shindo.
In episode 5, Chief Director Kajiwara (Tamaki Reo) gets information about a cover-up of a police assault. He begins to investigate the truth of the incident on his own, but it develops into a major problem involving the police and the entire JBN.
