It has been announced that the all-new original anime "BULLET/BULLET" by director Sunghoo Park , known for the anime " Jujutsu Kaisen ," will be exclusively streamed on Disney+ from July 16th. The main cast has also been announced, with Marina Inoue playing the protagonist, a boy named Gear. It has also been announced that Kazuhiro Yamaji, Rie Kugimiya, Kana Kana Hanazawa, Tomokazu Seki Seki, Asami Seto Orikasa, Asami Seto, Makoto Furukawa, Makoto Furukawa, and Yuki Wakai will also appear.
The film is an anime based on Director Park's plan that took about 10 years to come, and is a "super happy" non-stop action film set in a near-future world where civilization has collapsed and become a wilderness. While working at a junk shop, the boy Gear teams up with Qu-0213, a robot with four personalities, and a gambling-addicted polar bear to run a "thief business" to recover items that have been unjustly stolen from him. One day, he receives a request from a mysterious girl named Noah who is being chased by a hitman, and they are pursued by armed groups and vicious hitmen in the wilderness. Gear appears to have stolen a "secret" that will shake up the world... and so the story unfolds.
Along with the catchphrase "Junk people, change the world into pop!", a key visual featuring Gear, a polar bear, and Qu-0213 in a dilapidated classic car, and a teaser PV have been released.
Inoue, who plays the main character Gear, commented, "Gear has a strong desire to escape into the outside world. Where does that desire come from? I myself tried to unravel the mystery while playing the role. As with an original story, there are many unpredictable events, but first and foremost, I hope that everyone will enjoy the unique and crazy characters to the fullest!"
Yamaji, who plays a polar bear who commits thieves alongside Gears and the robot Qu-0213, said, "It was at a year-end party many years ago. Director Park told me, 'Yamaji, next up is a polar bear.' What on earth is he talking about? Is he making an animation about animals? Am I a bear? Is I a white Winnie the Pooh or something? I thought, not really understanding, so I casually accepted, saying, 'Yes, thank you very much. Hahaha...' I never expected such mysterious creatures to appear one after another! Recording was difficult, but this reckless sense of speed is surely something only the director can do. It's a masterpiece that I'm terribly excited to see the finished product. Check it out."
Kugimiya, who plays Nosa-nee-san, a personality of the four-personality robot Qu-0213 who cherishes its Gear like a younger brother, said, "It's a bit of a strange role, as one of multiple characters installed in one robot, and even when I try to put it into words I'm a little unsure if that's the right way to describe it. Or rather, it feels like the work is overwhelmingly full of strange things. I think it's a work that offers plenty of fun as you gradually gain experience, so please look forward to it!"
Ms. Hanazawa, who plays Nosa's twin sister in Qu-0213 and her Yankee-like personality, Cow-nee, commented, "Cow-nee is one of the robotic human personalities. She may be foul-mouthed, but she is cheerful, caring, and a reliable older sister. She is always taking care of the Gears together with Nosa-nee, and you can feel her deep love in their interactions. During the dubbing, there were many scenes where I got to work in sync with Kugimiya-san, who plays Nosa-nee, and as someone who loves her, it felt like a reward for me. Seki, who plays Naka-nii, a laid-back uncle personality who is treated badly by Qu-0213's Nosa and Cow, said, "This work is full of speed, with the talents of Director Park and the other creators exploding, and the dubbing was a lot of fun! Creating Naka-nii's character was a lot of fun with all the trial and error together with the staff, so I hope you will pay attention to it!"
Orikasa, who plays Granny Ei, the kind-hearted grandmother in charge of cooking on the Qu-0213 team, sent the following message: "Grandma Ei is one of the personalities within an AI robot. She is a kind...and sometimes strong (lol) woman who watches over the protagonist as he grows up. I was happy to play this Granny Ei. I would be happy if people think, "It would be great to have a grandmother like that in their family!" Seto, who plays the mysterious and beautiful Noah who is being chased by an assassin, said, "When I first saw Noah, I got the impression that she was a beautiful blonde with a competitive personality. Her meeting with Gear seemed somewhat contrived, and her true nature was hard to see, and there was something mysterious about her. She has a mature air about her for her age, and I tried to play her while keeping in mind why she is that way. I hope you enjoy watching the unique characters survive in this super fun, non-stop action story."
Furukawa, who plays Barrel, the boss of an armed group in the wilderness, commented, "I think one of the themes of this work is how to face your own way of life. In the midst of that, I feel that he is a man who bends his beliefs and changes the destination he wants to reach, but remains steadfast in trying to complete his job. Mogi, who plays Barrel's aide Wheel, said, "This work is an exhilarating story of 'cool guys driving to the ends of the wilderness in cool cars, driving crazy guys in a crazy world to the ends of the wilderness!' Although there are a lot of excited guys, Wheel remains calm and collected, and is a skilled agent who always follows through on orders. As the right-hand man of the organization's boss, Barrel, he blocks the path of the main characters, Gear and the others. There are also many other characters with unique personalities who will cause mayhem all over the screen, so I'm sure we'll see a rollercoaster of crazy entertainment...!? I can't wait for it to air! Wakai, who plays Rin, a police officer who also has a secret life as a member of a certain organization, commented, "Because it's a completely original story, I was excited and nervous every episode as I participated in the dubbing with such a wonderful cast! The character I play, Rin, has many cool sides, but also a very human side, so I was able to play him with care and sympathy. The action scenes are really cool and there are plenty of thrilling developments! I hope you enjoy it until the very end!"
The anime is based on a concept by Director Park, with series composition and scriptwriting by Kindaichishi (Uma Musume Cinderella Gray), character design and general animation director by Yoshimatsu Takahiro (HUNTER×HUNTER, Overlord), concept and mechanic design by Hidetaka Tenjin(Macross). Car action director is Misawa Shin (Initial D First Stage, Capeta). The anime will be produced by E&H production, an animation production company led by Director Park.
