The new drama "Marriage Swindler and the Fallen Woman" began streaming on March 19th on the app "BUMP," which distributes short dramas of 1-3 minutes each. The work, which is labelled as an "erotic suspense," stars Kasumi Yamatani and Ryo Tajima as her partner.
The drama is based on the manga "Night Spiders Drink Honey - A Marriage Swindler and a Fallen Woman" which is being distributed on an electronic comic site. The protagonist, Takahashi Asami (Yamatani), meets Kobayakawa Satoshi (Tajima), the heir to a food company with assets of 3 billion yen, at a matchmaking party. She thought it was a fateful encounter, but Satoshi's true identity is that of a ruthless marriage swindler. All 29 episodes are being distributed on BUMP.
Yamatani commented, "I captured on camera the inner faces and overflowing desires that every human being has. As actors, our job is to make lies look real. There were moments when I felt I was in a place not so far from Asamu and Kobayakawa. I hope you enjoy the rollercoaster-like, furious developments."
Tajima said, "The facial expressions (in the original work) are exquisite in every frame, so as an actor I tried to get as close as possible to the expressions in each frame, while also working together with the staff and cast to figure out how to add the subtleties between frames that can only be portrayed through video, and how to incorporate this into the fast-paced acting that is unique to short dramas. As a 'video con artist' rather than a 'marriage con artist' (laughs). I hope that you will be captivated by what we are aiming for."
