Popular voice actor Takeo Otsuka , known for his roles as Aqua in the TV anime " Oshi no Ko" and Jinshi in " The Apothecary Diaries ", will appear in the April issue of women's fashion magazine "Oggi" (Shogakukan), on sale from February 28th. Advance cuts exuding sexiness and coolness have been released. Otsuka will appear in the magazine's serial "Mimikoi: I Want to Hear the Voice of My Favorite," which features original photos of popular voice actors, and will reveal his journey so far and his honest thoughts now.
Otsuka made his debut as a voice actor in 2016, and won the Newcomer Actor Award at the 14th Seiyuu Awards in 2020. Although Otsuka has appeared in many popular works, his path to becoming a voice actor has not been smooth. He first aspired to become a voice actor when he was a university student, and recalls, "Right after I started looking for a job, I had a bit of a stumble... I think that's when I finally started to think seriously about my future. At that time, I suddenly had a moment of change in my perception and realized that voice acting is a job." After that, encouraged by the words of a university professor who gave him advice, he enrolled in a voice actor training school without telling his parents, even though he knew he would be disowned.
Otsuka-san always faced her voice acting career with the thought "I'll make this the right path, I have to make it the right path," and has now become an undisputedly popular voice actor. Her favorite saying is "It's better to regret doing it than to regret not doing it," and she says, "If there's a place where you feel there's new potential, or that something is likely to happen, it's a good idea to jump in." She reveals her current honest thoughts, saying, "I will continue to walk the path I've walked so far, and that won't change. But maybe it's good to be flexible and think, 'I don't know what's going to happen in the future.'"
The issue also talks about the highlights of the second season of " The Apothecary Diaries ," in which Otsuka plays the role of Jinshi .
