Ren Meguro of the popular group "Snow Man" appeared on stage on the opening day of the movie version of "Trillion Game" held in Tokyo on February 14th. To celebrate Meguro's 28th birthday on February 16th, his co-star Hayato Sano gave a surprise by reading a letter of thanks in tears.
During the event, Sano briefly left the stage, then appeared holding a large balloon bouquet and singing "Happy Birthday to You." When he came back on stage, he took out a letter and said, "I wrote this last night, but I was so overwhelmed with emotion that I ended up writing seven pages."
"I've realized once again how precious the days I spent with Meguro-kun were," Sano said. "No matter what happens, I'll be on your side until I die. When you're having a hard time, please rely on me sometimes. I'll help you with everything I've got, no matter what. Let's stay friends forever. Thank you so much for meeting me," he wrote in a seven-page letter, which he read out loud, before bursting into tears.
Meguro said, "Sano-kun has helped me a lot, so I hope you will continue to support me. I could feel Sano-kun's feelings. I was very happy. Thank you." Sano couldn't stop crying, so Meguro replied with a smile, "Can you stop crying, not me?"Mio Imada, Fukumoto Riko, Hara Yoshitaka, and director Murao Yoshiaki also appeared on stage that day.
The film is the feature-length version of the TV drama "Trillion Game" (TBS), which aired in July 2023. The story follows two college students who are polar opposites: "the world's most selfish man" Tennouji Haru, also known as Haru (Meguro), and "timid computer geek" Taira Manabu, also known as Gaku (Sano), who start a business from scratch, earn a trillion dollars in unconventional ways, and rise to the top in an attempt to obtain everything in the world.
