It has been announced that actor Rihito Itagaki has been appointed as a supporting supporter for the exhibition "The World of Thomas & Friends the Tank Engine - Tales of Working Locomotives," which will be held at the Kyoto Railway Museum (Shimogyo Ward, Kyoto City) from March 15th.
The exhibition will allow visitors to enjoy the world of "Thomas & Friends," which will celebrate the 80th anniversary of the publication of the original work in 2025. In addition to the original picture books, the evolution of the TV animated series, and precious works, it will also introduce the British heritage railways that are the roots of the series' creation, and feature play tools that incorporate digital content.
Itagaki says he has been familiar with the Thomas & Friends Engine animation and toys since he was a child, and specially drawn illustrations of Lady and Thomas were on display, with some audio guidance also taking place.
Itagaki commented, "Thomas & Friends is a locomotive that is loved all over the world, by children and adults alike, both now and in the past. I am one of those who have been attracted to its charm since I was a child. Now that I'm an adult, I'm very honored to be able to work in this way, and at the same time, I would like to tell my younger self, 'You'll be working with Thomas & Friends in the future.' With these feelings and fond memories in my heart, I will do my best to help convey the charm of Thomas & Friends."
