The TV anime "Otome Kaiju Caramelize," based on Spica Aoki's "romantic comedy x monster" manga currently serialized in "Monthly Comic Alive" (KADOKAWA), will begin airing on TBS every Thursday at 1:28 AM starting July 2nd. It will also be broadcast on BS11 and AT-X.
The second main visual, featuring a slightly melancholic Chloe against a fantastical landscape, and the second main PV, focusing on the love story between Chloe and Arata, have also been released. It was also announced that the metal anime song unit "METANICK" will perform the opening theme "Otome Kaiju" and "HoneyWorks feat. Hakoniwari Lily" will perform the ending theme "Otome no Honki".
"Otome Kaiju Caramelize" is a manga that has been serialized in "Monthly Comic Alive" since 2018. The story follows Kuroe Akaishi, a high school girl suffering from an unexplained illness, who falls in love with Shinta Minami, the most popular boy at school. However, the moment the girl's feelings of love intensify, the giant monster Harugon appears... The manga has sold over 230,000 copies in total.
The anime will be directed by Teruyuki Omine and produced by Liden Films. Hikari Chiga will voice Chloe, and the cast will include Akira Sekine as Shinta Minami, Akira Sekine as Manatsu Yuri, Haruka Shiraishi as Raimu Kono, Kotono Mitsuishi as Rinko Akaishi, Katsuyuki Konishi as Kotaro Hibino, and Eriko Matsui as Jumbo King.
