It was revealed on the 17th that actress Anna Yamada will be the narrator for the documentary "Professional Golfer Ayaka Furue: A 24-year-old who continues to challenge herself endlessly," which will be broadcast and streamed on WOWOW on January 25. Both Furue and Yamada are 24 years old, and they will convey Furue's charms from the perspective of someone of the same generation.
Furue will win the major "Amundi Evian Championship" in July 2024, becoming the fourth Japanese woman to win a major championship after Hisako Higuchi, Hinako Shibuno, and Yuka Sasao. In addition, she will be the first Japanese player to win the Bear Trophy (the title for the player with the highest average strokes).
The program will feature exclusive WOWOW footage, as well as in-depth coverage of last season's final tournament, the CME Group Tour Championship, and interviews during the off-season, providing a glimpse into the true character of one of the most talented players on the US tour.
Yamada commented, "I am extremely honored to have been given this opportunity! I hope to be able to fully convey the appeal of Ayaka Furue, who is the same generation as me and is active at the forefront of the industry."
"Professional Golfer Furue Ayaka: 24 Years Old and Continuing to Challenge Herself" will be broadcast and streamed on WOWOW Prime and WOWOW On Demand from 2:15 pm on January 25th.
