Actors Mizutani Yutaka and Terawaki Yasufumi appeared on stage to greet the audience at the event for the film "AIBOU - The Movie - In a Desperate Situation! 42.195km Tokyo Big City Marathon" (directed by Izumi Seiji, 2008) held at Marunouchi TOEI (Chuo Ward, Tokyo) on July 24th.
As the venue closes on July 27th, the two appeared before fans in costumes from their roles as Sugishita Ukyo and Kameyama Kaoru at a stage greeting held as part of the ongoing event "Goodbye Marunouchi Toei." This was the first time the two had appeared at the venue in costumes from their "AIBOU" roles in about 17 years, since the "Marunouchi Toei Triumphant Stage Greeting" held on June 3rd, 2008, to commemorate the film's 3 million audience. Mizutani commented, "It brings back memories," while Terawaki said, "I'm back, and goodbye (to Marunouchi Toei) (laughs)," drawing laughter from the audience.
The audience cheered with cheers of "Ukyo-san!" and "Kaoru-chan!", and the two were smiling throughout the show. Upon discovering Ukyo-san's "oshi-uchiwa" (fan of his choice), Terawaki looked around the audience and asked, "I wonder if they have my fan?", which again erupted in laughter from the audience.
The two talked about their memories of filming the movie and the episode when Kaoru returned to the Special Missions Unit. Perhaps feeling good from the cheers, Terawaki blurted out at the end, "My hair is a little long now, but I'm going to cut it soon." Since the start of production for the new season has not yet been announced, when she noticed Mizutani's shocked expression, she quickly "corrected course" by saying, "If you say that, it's like you're going to do it, what do you think? (laughs)," which caused the biggest laugh of the day.
