It has been revealed that a mysterious giant named Gillark, who takes the form of a black Ultraman Arc, will appear in " Ultraman Arc THE MOVIE: Hyperdimensional Decisive Battle! Ark of Light and Darkness" (directed by Takanori Tsujimoto , scheduled for release on February 21, 2025), a new film based on the special effects drama "Ultraman" series "Ultraman". Ultraman Arc and Gillark will engage in a great battle between light and darkness in the hyperdimension. A poster visual and trailer showing Ultraman Arc and Gillark facing off against each other have also been released.
Actor Naoto Takenaka, who had already been announced to be appearing in the film, was also announced to be playing the space sage Saskull from Diggle. Saskull is a mysterious man who will subject the main character, Yuma Hize(Yuki Totsuka), to an ultimate test beyond his imagination.
Takenaka commented, "I never thought I'd be appearing in that Ultraman movie! It's something I never imagined would happen! To think that my name will be engraved on the Ultraman I watched as a child! Wow! Of all the Ultraman series, my favorite is 'Return of Ultraman'! What did I like about it?...of course it was the lead actor, Tokiro Dan! I was moved by the action of Tokiro Dan transforming without using a flash beam! Also, unlike the bright images up until now, I was stunned by the dark colors of the images, which had a certain shadow to them and were indescribable! And the casting of Mori Kishida and Rumi Sakakibara was perfect! Wow! Oh! This is bad! If it keeps going like this it won't end in ' Ultraman Arc THE MOVIE'! What role will I appear in?!?! I can't help but have a feeling that something incredible is going to happen!!! Everyone! I am really looking forward to meeting you all at the movie theater!! Wow!!!"
From December 27th, movie ticket cards with a scene of Ultraman Arc and Gillark glaring at each other will go on sale. If you purchase a movie ticket card at designated events or shops, you will receive a free "Ultraman Arc Finger Puppet Gillark Coloring Ver."
It was also announced that a promotional card for the "Ultraman Card Game," called "Gilark," will be distributed as a gift to moviegoers in the first week of release, starting February 21, 2025.
The theme of "Ultraman Arc" is "the power of imagination."Yuma Hize, a rookie researcher who has just joined the SKIP Monster Science Research Institute, becomes one with an emissary of light that descended on Earth from a faraway galaxy, and becomes a giant Ultraman Arc to protect the future of humans and the Earth from an impending crisis. It airs every Saturday at 9:00 a.m. on TV Tokyo.
