A "Screening with Yamatalk" for the second chapter of " Be Forever Yamato: Rebel 3199, " the latest in the remake series of the popular anime " Space Battleship Yamato ," "Red Sun's Sortie," was held on December 19th at Shinjuku Piccadilly (Shinjuku Ward, Tokyo), with general director Harutoshi Fukui, director Naomichi Yamato, screenwriter Hideki Oka, and Kia Asamiya, who is in charge of the image drawings, among others, in attendance. This was Asamiya's first appearance at a "Screening with Yamatalk" in about six years, and his image drawings were made public.
According to Asamiya, image drawings are similar to image boards, but are a term he "made up." At the event, in addition to Yamato's appearance scene in Chapter 1, image drawings of "The Grodes approaching Yamato," "The Cosmo Hound sortie," "The Grodes appearing," and "Yamato being attacked by a multi-legged tank" were shown.
Furthermore, image drawings of Chapter 3, including "spoilers," were also unveiled. Images such as "Cosmo Tiger II attacking Alctia," "Yamato and Grotesque," and "Mobile Armor" were revealed. It seems that the highlight of Chapter 3 will be the intense battle scenes, and Fukui said, "We've put a lot of thought into them."
Asamiya, who is a big fan of " Space Battleship Yamato," expressed his respect for the series, but revealed that he was "looking for an angle that wasn't seen in the traditional Yamato."
Fukui will be the general director of "Be Forever Yamato: Rebel 3199," and will also be in charge of series composition and scriptwriting. Fukui was in charge of series composition and scriptwriting for the remake series "Space Battleship Yamato 2202: Warriors of Love" and "Space Battleship Yamato 2205: A New Voyage," and will also be the general director of this latest work. There are seven chapters in total, with Chapter 2, "Red Sun's Sortie," premiering on November 22nd. Chapter 3, "Ultramarine Asteroid," will be screened on April 11th, 2025.
