It has been revealed that actor Jun Shison will be making a special guest appearance in the final episode (episode 9) of the drama series "The Travel Nurse" (TV Asahi, Thursdays 9pm), which will air on December 19th. He will play Abe Minato, a mysterious man who knows the past of Shizuka Kuki (played by Kiichi Nakai).
Shison co-starred with Masaki Okada, who stars in this film, in the movie "The Night Beyond the Triangle Window" (2021). The two played "buddies," and Okada's appearance was decided this time at his own request.
Shison commented, "I heard that Okada Masaki, who is my favorite senior and friend, asked me to take the role. I accepted the role with the thought that if I could be of some help to the drama that 'Ma-kun' has spun up to this point," and appealed, "It was a short appearance, but please watch to see what kind of impact Abe Minato, who I play, will have on the final episode!"
Okada expressed his joy, saying, "As for the role of Abe Minato, I wanted someone with whom I had some kind of connected relationship to play the role, so when I heard that Shison-kun would be playing the role, I was genuinely happy. We meet and have meals together in private, so we were able to meet on set on an equal footing. I had heard that he had adjusted his schedule despite his busy schedule, so I was worried, but he managed to embodi the role brilliantly, so I was impressed. Jun-chan is the best guy."
Meanwhile, Nakai also praised Shison, saying, "In the final episode, he plays a mysterious man who knows Shizu's past. This type of appearance is difficult and challenging for an actor, but Shison handled it with ease and briskness, showing us a dashing appearance. As this character is the 'last big presence' for Shizu, I am really glad I got to work with him. I am so grateful."
