Her songs with WANDS, "Sekaijuu no Dare Yori Kitto" and "Tada Nakitaku Naruno," were hits. She also worked as an actor, starring in the film "Love Letter" (1995) and winning the Japan Academy Award for Best Actress for her role in "Tokyo Weather" (1997).
