The 49th episode of the NHK morning drama "Omusubi" (General TV, Monday to Saturday 8:00am, etc.), starring Kanna Hashimoto, was broadcast on December 5th. In the episode, there was a scene in which the ghost of Maki (Miyu Oshima), a shoemaker known as "Nabe-san" Takao (Naoto Ogata), who lost his only daughter Maki (Miyu Oshima) in the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake, appears in front of him, which became a hot topic among viewers.
In episode 49, Takao has been isolated since losing Maki, cutting off contact with the people of Sakura-dori Shopping Street. On this day, Takao gets drunk after drinking beer at the local Chinese restaurant "Taikyoken" and returns home to an empty house.
In the dark room, Takao gazed fondly at Maki's photo and hugged her tenderly. "Are you drinking again?" he heard a voice and turned around to see Maki smiling gently. "You shouldn't drink too much!" Takao was scolded and held Maki's hand tightly with tears in his eyes.
However, when he came to his senses, he realized that the person holding Takao's hand was Ayumi (Naka Riisa), who had brought him her shoes. The two of them looked confused and let go of his hand. Takao said, "Stop it. When I see you, I remember Maki," and held his head in his hands.
In morning dramas, it is not uncommon for dead characters to appear as ghosts, and in the previous series, "Wings on a Tiger," the word "imaginary" became familiar to viewers. On social media, comments such as "The famous ghost of the morning drama has arrived!", "The famous ghost of the morning drama, this time it's Maki-chan," "Imaginary Maki-chan... I cried at Ogata Naoto... what a spectacular performance," "I cried my eyes out that morning," and "It's too painful to think that he's been drinking like that and crying for Maki-chan for years."
