Actor Kosuke Suzuki appeared on Tetsuko Kuroyanagi's long-running talk show "Tetsuko's Room" (TV Asahi) broadcast on December 3rd. He talked about his memories with actor Toshiyuki Nishida, who passed away in October at the age of 76. He admired Nishida and took a leave of absence from university to become a trainee at the Seinenza Theater Company, where Nishida worked. After two years as a trainee, he was able to become a member of the company. At that time, Nishida was starring in the musical "Fiddler on the Roof". When he went to say hello to Nishida in his dressing room at the Imperial Theater, he was kindly invited to go with him, saying, "Oh! You're the new member, right? I'm going to eat now, so let's go together." He took me to an amazing restaurant below the Imperial Hotel, where there was only about four slices of meat on a plate I'd never seen before. It was a shocking price. I ate it while thinking, "I've never eaten anything like this before." When I went to relieve myself, Nishida came and we ended up sitting next to each other. At that time, he said to him, "Kosuke, thank you for looking up to me and coming into this world. I'm very happy, but from now on we'll be on the same stage as each other. We're not just friends, we're friends, so please take care of us." He said, "I'm glad I followed him," and that he was "a very loving person." When Nishida's message, which was broadcast when Nishida first appeared on "Tetsuko's Room" in 2015, was replayed, he looked intently at the message and tried to hold back tears, but eventually tears began to trickle down his cheeks from under his glasses.
