The 41st episode of the NHK morning drama "Omusubi" starring Hashimoto Kanna was broadcast on November 25th, with actor Rena Matsui appearing as Aihara Mika, also known as "Chanmika".
In the 41st episode, while the shopkeepers at the Yoneda Hair Salon are chatting away, Masato (Kitamura Yukiya) becomes upset when he hears that Yui (Hashimoto) is saying that it's great that she became a nutritionist for her boyfriend, and is scolded by everyone around him. Then, Ayumu (Naka Riisa) suddenly appears in Kobe, shocking everyone.
It seems that she has returned from Los Angeles, causing chaos in the Yoneda household once again...
This is Matsui's third morning drama appearance, following "Manpuku" (2nd half of 2018) and "Yell" (first half of 2020). The character she will be playing this time is Chanmika, a friend of Ayumu from middle school who runs a second-hand clothing store called "Girlies" in Motomachi and supports Kobe's gal culture.
"I was surprised at first by the setting of a morning drama x gal, but I was drawn in by the colorful portrayal of Yui-chan's struggle to help people through food. Chanmika is Ayumu's friend who works at a second-hand clothing store. I wasn't able to become a gal in the Heisei era, but with the encouragement of my hair and makeup artist, I'm having fun playing a gal. I'm happy that people call me 'Chanmika' on set, it makes me feel like a gal," she commented.
"Omusubi" is a "Heisei youth graffiti" in which the heroine, born in 1989, connects people's hearts and futures as a nutritionist, with the "gal spirit" of valuing one's individuality at all times.
