It has been announced that Reina Ueda will be appearing as a voice actor in the TV anime "Rascal Does Not Dream of Santa Claus," based on the "College Student Edition" of the popular light novel series "Rascal Does Not Dream of Santa Claus" (Dengeki Bunko). Ueda will play a new character, Miniskirt Santa. A teaser visual featuring Miniskirt Santa and visuals of Azusagawa Sakuta and Sakurajima Mai as college students have been released.
Miniskirt Santa is a mysterious character who suddenly appears in front of Sakuta, calling herself Kirishima Touko, an unidentified internet singer who has been attracting attention from the public. She is invisible to anyone other than Sakuta, and does not appear in any footage. She says that she goes around giving out adolescent syndrome as gifts.
It was also announced that director Masui Soichi and other main staff members from the movie anime will continue to appear in their roles. Yokotani Masahiro will be in charge of composition, Tamura Satomi will be in charge of character design, and the film will be produced by CloverWorks.
The "Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai" series depicts the love story between high school student Sakuta Azusagawa, who is an outsider at school, and his senior actress Mai Sakurajima. The keyword is "puberty syndrome," which occurs during adolescence. The original work has sold over 3 million copies in total.
The TV anime "Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai" aired from October to December 2018. The movie version "Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dreaming Girl" was released in June 2019, followed by "Rascal Does Not Dream of an Outing Sister" on June 23, 2023, and "Rascal Does Not Dream of a Schoolbag Girl" on December 1, 2023.
"Rascal Does Not Dream of Santa Claus" will be broadcast in 2025.
