It has been announced that the new "The Quintessential Quintuplets*" anime series, based on the popular romantic comedy manga by Haruba Negi, will be broadcast on TBS at 1:29 a.m. on December 23rd. Both parts will be broadcast at once.
BS11 will also broadcast both parts at 4 p.m. on January 1st, 2025. BS11 will also broadcast "The Quintessential Quintuplets Movie" at 6:30 p.m. on December 31st, and "The Quintessential Quintuplets∽" at 3 p.m. on January 1st, 2025.
"The Quintessential Quintuplets" depicts the story of a high school student living a poor life, Uesugi Futaro, who becomes a tutor to quintuplets with unique personalities who are on the verge of failing, and his struggles to guide them to graduation. It was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Magazine" (Kodansha) from August 2017 to February 2020. The comic series has sold over 20 million copies in total.
"The Quintessential Quintuplets*" is a new work based on the original idea and completely supervised by the original author, Haruba, and is a film adaptation of the "honeymoon arc" of Fuutarou and the quintuplets. Prior to its TV broadcast, it was screened in theaters from September.
