Yamato Forever REBEL3199:The second chapter is "That's how it ended..." Daisuke Ono's theme song for "Kodai Susumu" is "Heavenly Blessings"

The opening day stage greeting for the second chapter, "Red Sun's Sortie," of "Yamato Forever REBEL3199," the latest installment in the remake series of the popular anime "Space Battleship Yamato," was held at Shinjuku Piccadilly on November 22nd, with appearances by general director Harutoshi Fukui, director Naomichi Yamato, and screenwriter Hideki Oka. Oka said, "I've been on opening days many times, but this is the most nervous I've ever been. It ended like that. I'm devastated. I'm sure you're wondering what will happen next. I'm sure you'll see the light. I hope you'll watch Chapter 2 many times and look forward to Chapter 3."

Chapter 2 is a series of difficult situations for the main character, Susumu Kodai. Daisuke Ono, the voice actor who plays Susumu Kodai, is also singing the ending theme song, "Reach for the Star," which has been a hot topic. Fukui said, "(The song) helped me a lot. There was talk of Ono singing the theme song, but it hadn't been decided which chapter it would be. It was a blessing that it became this chapter."

"3199" has many characters, and it also has the appeal of being a group drama. Fukui said, "My style is to write the names of all the characters at the beginning of the scenario, and that alone takes up four pages. This time, I drew a group of people with Kodai at the center. I wanted to show that the universe of "Yamato" is alive by placing various people. Even so, it's too much."

"3199" has a total of seven chapters, and the third chapter, "Gunjou no Asteroid," will be screened on April 11, 2025. Finally, Fukui called out, "I will do my best. I would appreciate your continued support." Nakamura Eriko, who plays Kiryu Mikage, acted as the host for the stage greeting.

The first Space Battleship Yamato anime series was broadcast in 1974, and other works have since been produced, including Space Battleship Yamato 2, Farewell to Space Battleship Yamato: Warriors of Love, and Space Battleship Yamato: Resurrection. A remake of the first film, Space Battleship Yamato 2199, was screened in theaters from 2012 to 2014, and a sequel to 2199, 2202, was broadcast in theaters and on television from 2017 to 2019. The two-part series, 2205, was screened in theaters in 2021 and 2022. Fukui will serve as general director of 3199, and will also be in charge of series composition and scriptwriting. Fukui was in charge of series composition and scriptwriting for the remake series Space Battleship Yamato 2202: Warriors of Love and Space Battleship Yamato 2205: A New Voyage, and will also serve as general director for the latest film.
