Kabuki actor Onoe Matsuya will appear on Kuroyanagi Tetsuko's long-running talk show "Tetsuko's Room" (TV Asahi), broadcasting at 1pm on November 20th. He was recently surprised to find out that he is related to a certain celebrity, but was even more surprised by the information Kuroyanagi gave him.
Looking back, Onoe was a baseball boy as a child, and dreamed of becoming a professional baseball player. He loved Hara Tatsunori, and says he has a treasured item that he received from Hara.
Next year will mark 20 years since his father, Matsusuke, passed away. Matsuya, who was 20 years old at the time, has worked desperately as the family's breadwinner ever since. His mother, Morie, supported him, and is said to be a rare presence who would give him honest opinions, even when they were harsh. He will talk about his gratitude to his mother, and show off a keepsake from his late father.
