It has been revealed that the new full-length animated feature film "PUI PUI Molcar The Movie MOLMAX", a completely new version of the stop-motion animation "PUI PUI Molcar" featuring the wool felt characters Molcar, will feature a powered-up version of Magical Angel Morumi, known as "Great Magical Angel Morumi". Magical Angel Morumi is a hugely popular animated character from Mol City who appeared in episode 10 of the TV anime "I Want to Be a Hero", and will appear in a powered-up version in the film. It was also announced that voice actress Yukari Tamura will be playing Great Magical Angel Morumi.
New visuals of Great Magical Angel Morumi have also been released. While her pink eyes and adorable features remain the same, her hair has been changed to long and her outfit has been changed to a white dress featuring a large pink ribbon.
The in-movie animation "Great Magical Angel Morumi" tells the story of an unlicensed junior high school student who loves Molcars and dreams of becoming a Molcar driver, who makes a contract with Magical Angel Molcar and transforms into a magical angel. He drives Molcars around the city and engages in deadly battles with Devil Drivers who threaten road safety. The TV anime was a huge hit, and was then made into a movie version... The story goes.
"PUI PUI Molcar" is a stop-motion animation featuring Molcars, characters made from felt guinea pigs that have been transformed into cars. It aired on TV Tokyo's children's program "Kinder TV" from January to March 2021, and was popular with both children and adults, trending on Twitter every week.
The new TV anime series "PUI PUI Molcar DRIVING SCHOOL" aired from October to December 2022. The movie version "Jump Out! PUI PUI Molcar", which will screen all 12 episodes of the TV anime, will be released in July 2021. The movie version, "Narase! PUI PUI Molcar + DRIVING SCHOOL Yoshuhen," which screens all 12 episodes of the TV anime and the first and second episodes of "PUI PUI Molcar DRIVING SCHOOL," was released in September 2022.
In "PUI PUI Molcar The Movie MOLMAX," the high-tech era arrives in Mol City, where the Molcars live, and AI Molcar, an AI Molcar, appears. Produced as a CG animation, it will be directed by Mankyu, who has also directed "Sumikko Gurashi the Movie: The Pop-up Picture Book and the Secret Child," and Misato Tomoki, who was the original creator and director of the first season of the TV series, will participate as general supervisor.
