It has been revealed that actors Higa Manami and Iwata Takanori will be co-starring in the drama series "Forest" (ABC TV/TV Asahi, Sunday 10:15 pm) to be broadcast in January 2025. The drama will be an original love suspense story in which the two actors, who are acting together for the first time, play lovers.
Ikushima Kaede (Higa), who works at a flower gift shop, and Ichinose Jun (Iwata), who runs a dry cleaning shop, are lovers who have been living together for a year. The two live an ordinary but happy life, but anxiety is always shadowing their days. This is because the two have been telling each other a "lie". Eventually, that anxiety becomes reality, and the modest happiness built on the "lie" begins to crumble... This is the first suspense drama in this time slot, and the original idea is by Ryui Yukari of "Strawberry Night" and the script is by Yamaoka Junpei of "Omukae Shibuya-kun".

When I received the offer, I was very excited to be taking on a new challenge, as it was a completely original romantic suspense drama. I want to create a work that will make people excited and curious to know what happens next.

When I first met him, I got a glimpse of his passion for his work, and I felt a sense of security knowing that I had a strong ally. I'm a reckless type of person, so I'm helped by Iwata-san's calmness and intelligence.
