It has recently been revealed that Juri Kosaka , who is also making headlines for co-starring with Ai Mikami in the NHK Asadora drama "Kaze,Kaoru " in the first half of 2026, will appear in "Itsuka, Zero Gravity in the Sky," which will begin airing on September 8th in NHK's "Yorudora" time slot (General TV, Monday to Thursday, 10:45 p.m.).
The drama features four girls from the astronomy club who, in high school, shared their dream of "going to space together." As they grow up and go their separate ways, they suddenly reunite with their forgotten dreams. "If we had a micro-satellite, maybe even we could aim for space today..." Encouraged by their "older selves," they begin their second youth...
The main character, Mochizuki Asuka, will be played by Kiryu Aso, Hibino Misato Morita, whom Asuka reunites with, will be played by Morita Nozomi, and Asuka and Hikari's astronomy club friend Mizuhara Shu will be played by Katayama Yuki, and Kiuchi Haruko will be played by Ito Marika.
Uesaka plays Hibino Hikari in her high school days. Hikari is a transfer student who arrives at the same high school that Asuka attends. She has a cheerful personality and a strong core, treating everyone equally. Her free-spirited demeanor, not caring about what others think, makes her a bit of an outsider in her class. One day, she learns that Asuka loves space, and invites her to join the astronomy club.
Uesaka commented, "Hikari is very straightforward about the things she likes and naturally draws others in. She's like the sun, with that kind of power. When I was spending time with the three members of the astronomy club and filming, there were times when I felt like, 'We're so invincible right now.' Just as the grown-up Hikaris remember their high school days, I hope viewers will be able to feel the four of them as shining, invincible, and fearless, as if they were in a space with no gravity."
It was also announced that Tamaki Sora will play Mochizuki Asuka in high school, Shirakura Aozora will play Aoi Shirakura, and Yamashita Kiriri will play Kiuchi Haruko. It was also revealed that Namase Katsuhisa will play Toneri Goro, the taxi driver that Asuka and her friends always use, and Suzuki Anne will play Izumi Tokiko, a professor at the space engineering lab where university student Kanazawa Sui (Daiken Okudaira) belongs.
