The synopsis of the fourth episode of the drama series "Monster" (Kantele/Fuji TV, Mondays at 10pm), starring actress Shuri, which will air on November 4th, has been released.
In the fourth episode, a weekly magazine publishes an article about rampant corporal punishment in the soccer club of a prestigious university. Moreover, the accusation is made anonymously by a person calling himself member A, causing an uproar within the club.
Amari Hiroki (Sano Gaku), a high school classmate of Sugiura (Jesse of SixTONES) and the coach of the soccer club, comes to the office to ask for Ryoko's (Shuri) advice. At the same time, the members of the club start uploading videos. They claim that the harsh training sessions up until now were corporal punishment, and will sue the university for damages. The chairman of the board of directors asks Ryoko to prove that there was no corporal punishment in the soccer club in preparation for the trial, and also to identify the member who leaked the information to the weekly magazine.
The class action lawsuit was filed by Jinguji Kazuya (Natsuo Taiko) and the other third-year club members. The only one who did not participate was goalkeeper Takeda Daiki (Honda Kiyoya), who is a potential professional. From what Ryoko and Sugiura have heard, Takeda is a scholarship student who has been exempted from paying entrance fees and tuition. In other words, the university cannot be at a disadvantage. Wanting to know the real situation of the soccer club, Ryoko somehow takes Sugiura and infiltrates a matchmaking event...
What are the standards for corporal punishment anyway? As various testimonies come out, leaving Sugiura confused, Ryoko asks Koga Yusaku (Daichi), a former soccer club member who was a teammate of Takeda and Jinguji in high school, about the past feud between the two...
Honda, who will be making a guest appearance in the episode, said, "I also did kendo for 10 years, so I thought I had something in common with Takeda, who was serious about soccer." Natsuo also had been a promising player in the volleyball club since junior high school, and went on to a strong high school and aimed to win the national championship. He said that he approached the filming while remembering those times, saying, "I used my memories from high school to portray the feelings towards my rival, the conflict when things didn't go as planned, and the jealousy."
Sano, who has high physical abilities and describes himself as a "stamina monster," revealed that he had a lot of fun with Jesse, Shuri, and the other cast members in the waiting room taking a psychological test, as the role is set to be a high school classmate of Sugiura, played by Jesse.
"Monster" is a unique legal entertainment story in which Shuri, in her first lead role in a primetime drama series, plays the mysterious monster lawyer Kannami Ryoko, who is not bound by "common sense" and faces her opponents by "eliminating emotions", facing various problems unique to the Reiwa era where the law sometimes does not keep up, and facing court battles as if it were a game. The script is written by Hashibe Atsuko, who wrote the "Boku Series trilogy" including "Boku no Ikiru Michi" (Kantele/Fuji TV).
