The synopsis for episode 3, "Flowers of a Deserted Island," of the TBS Sunday Theatre drama "Diamonds Sleeping in the Sea" (Sundays at 9pm), starring actor Kamiki Ryunosuke, which will air on November 10th, has been released.

In episode 3... Teppei (Kamiki) and Kensho (Shimizu Hiroya) try their best in their own way to create an environment where the miners can work comfortably. With the help of miner Shinpei (Saito Takumi)'s advice, the two of them are able to create a new company housing system thanks to their efforts.

Then the seasons pass, and it is October 1957. Water supply is finally opened to Hashima. New apartments for miners and new elementary and junior high school buildings are completed, and with an increase in both population and coal production, Hashima is about to reach its peak.

Meanwhile, producer Natsuyagi (Shibukawa Kiyohiko) arrives to make a sequel to "Burning Deserted Island," a film previously set on Hashima. Natsuyagi speaks passionately about wanting to capture the vibrant Hashima Island of today on film, and declares that he will hold auditions for actors among the islanders. While everyone is excited, Asako (Sugisaki Hana), who was called by Natsuyagi, also secretly begins practicing her acting.

Meanwhile, in the present day, Reo (Kamiki, playing two roles) moves into Izumi's (Miyamoto Nobuko) house and meets Izumi's family for the first time. Izumi introduces Reo to her family as her fiancé... and so on.

The drama is a story of love, friendship, and family spanning 70 years, set on Hashima Island (Gunkanjima) in Nagasaki Prefecture, which developed through coal mining from the beginning of the Meiji era to the postwar high economic growth period, and in present-day Tokyo. It is produced by the team behind the dramas "Unnatural" and "MIU404" (same series) and the movie "The Last Mile," with screenwriter Nogi Akiko, director Tsukahara Ayuko, and producer Arai Junko.
