It has been announced that the TV anime "The Classroom of a Black Cat and a Witch," based on the latest work by Yosuke Kaneda, known for the manga "Boarding School Juliet," will be broadcast on the CBC TV/TBS anime slot "Agaru Anime" every Sunday at 11:30 pm starting from April 12th. It will be broadcast for two consecutive seasons.
It was also announced that Kana Hanazawa will play the role of Principal Jeanne of the Royal Diana Magic School, Show Hayami will play the role of Vice Principal Justice Libra, and Daisuke Hirakawa will play the role of Professor Procyon. The second main promotional video, depicting Spica's turbulent school life at the Royal Diana Magic School, has also been released.
The manga has been serialized on the web service Magazine Pocket (Kodansha) since March 2022. The story is about Spica Virgo, an apprentice witch with no money or connections who cannot use magic, who forms a master-disciple relationship with a mysterious black cat who can use human language and magic.
The anime will be directed by Naoyuki Tatsuwa and produced by Liden Films, and will star Kaede Hondo as Spica Virgo, an apprentice witch, and Nobunaga Shimazaki Shimazaki as Claude Sirius, a magician who is turned into a cat by a curse.
