It has been announced that the light novel "The Enraged Young Lady Swears Revenge: I'll Crush My Country with the Power of a Grimoire," published by HJ Novels (Hobby Japan) and winner of the "HJ Novel Award 2021 First Half," will be adapted into a TV anime series that will begin airing in July 2026. The popular "revenge fantasy" follows a beautiful, genius young lady who is suddenly thrown out of engagement by the crown prince and imprisoned, and who then uses her most powerful grimoire to manipulate her connections, finances, and military power to exact revenge on those who betrayed her. It has also been made into a comic book. It has also been announced that voice actress Saori Onishi will play the main character, Elisabeth Leiston/Ellie Reiss.
The anime will be directed by Naoyuki Kuzuya, with series composition by Mitsuki Hirota, character design by Sayaka Anesaki, and music by Satoshi Takano and Karin Nakano. It will be produced by Studio Comet.
A teaser visual has been released depicting Elisabeth holding the seven Grimoire Sevens, sacred artifacts created from her own magical power. A teaser PV has also been released, depicting a scene in which Elisabeth, who had been doing well, is forced to abandon her engagement with the Crown Prince and is imprisoned in a dungeon, completely changing her life. Driven by a desire for revenge against her homeland, Elisabeth flees to a neighboring country.
Onishi, who plays the main character Elisabeth, commented on the appeal of this work, "The fact that all the characters play their roles perfectly until the very end!!" and "There are many characters who are worthy of Elisabeth's vow of revenge (laughs). Enjoy the work as if you were Elisabeth! You're sure to feel refreshed!"
