On December 26th, rock band Kai Band will hold a one-night-only special live concert, "KAI BAND 50th ANNIVERSARY EXTENSION 'New Blood' presented by WOWOW," at Toyosu PIT (Koto-ku, Tokyo). It has been announced that the concert will be broadcast and streamed on WOWOW Prime and WOWOW On Demand from 8pm on February 7th next year.
On November 8th, Kai Band performed at the Nippon Budokan for the first time in 16 years, marking the culmination of their 50th anniversary since their debut. This performance at Toyosu PIT was positioned as an "EXTENSION" of their 50th anniversary, and for the first time, LED screens were added to the stage production to express the band's lyrics and worldview. The live performance featured the cinematic narratives depicted in their songs, and the sometimes lyrical and sometimes epic depictions of the scenes they have written.
WOWOW has been running a 16-month special program called "Kai Band 50th Anniversary WOWOW Special Year" since last November. Excluding the Toyosu PIT performance, the lineup from January next year onwards is as follows (all will be broadcast or streamed on WOWOW Live and WOWOW On Demand).
"Kai Band Documentary - 50th Anniversary Kai Band Theory - Extended Version" (January 5th, 9:30 pm) - An expanded version of "Kai Band Theory" which was broadcast and streamed in October 2025, adding newly shot and unreleased footage. "Kai Band 50TH ANNIVERSARY $1 Million Night at Nippon Budokan" (January 14th, 10:00 pm) - A culmination live performance of the 50th anniversary year, held at Nippon Budokan on November 8th, 2025. "Kai Band Music Video Collection 2025" (January 15th, 12:30 am) - A collection of all the band's music videos.
"Kai Band THE BIG GIG AGAIN 2016" (February 5th, 3:25 pm) = A live performance held at Hibiya Open-Air Concert Hall on August 7th, 2016. ▽ "Comprehensive Analysis! Kai Band THE BIG GIG AGAIN 2016 Extended Edition" (February 5th, 5:30 pm) = A program introducing the highlights of the Hibiya Open-Air Concert Hall live performance in August 2016. ▽ "Kai Band 45th+1 Anniversary FINAL $1 Million Night at Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse" (February 26th, 8:00 am) = A live performance held at the special outdoor stage at Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse Event Square on July 10th, 2021.
