"Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack" (directed by Yoshiyuki Tomino), a part of the popular anime series "Gundam," will be streamed on Abema from 8:00 PM on January 3, 2026. It will be available for free for one week after its release.
"Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack" is set in the year 0093 of the Universal Century, when Char Aznable leads the newly formed Neo Zeon army and once again challenges the Earth Federation government as its commander-in-chief. Amuro Ray of the Earth Federation's Londo Bell unit attempts to stop Char's violent actions. The film was released in 1988.
It will be streamed as part of Abema's "New Year's Free Anime Sale" project.
