It has been announced that the legendary OVA (original video animation) "Creamy Mami, the Magic Angel Creamy Mami: Eternal Once More," based on the TV anime "Creamy Mami, the Magic Angel Angel Creamy Mami," part of the "Pierrot Magical Girl Series" that aired from 1983 to 1984, will be screened nationwide for two weeks only starting January 23, 2026. To commemorate the broadcast of the latest "Pierrot Magical Girl Series" work, "Magical Sisters Lulutto Lily," starting in April 2026, the OVA released in 1984 will be screened after approximately 42 years. The opening footage without credits from the five TV anime works in the "Pierrot Magical Girl Series" will also be screened at the same time. The opening footage will be an HD remastered version.
"Creamy Mami, the Magic Angel Creamy Mami: Eternal Once More" is the first OVA of "Creamy Mami, the Magic Angel Creamy Mami," which is made up of a digest of the TV anime and a new story. This is the first time in the history of anime that an OVA that is a "sequel" derived from the TV series has been released.
As a gift to attendees, postcards drawn by character designer Akemi Takada and postcards drawn by Studio Pierrot will be distributed. A stage greeting to commemorate the screening will be held at Aeon Cinema Itabashi (Itabashi Ward, Tokyo) on January 25, 2026, with Morisawa Yu, Ota Takako who plays Creamy Mami, Mizushima Yu who plays Otomo Toshio, and storyboard and director Mochizuki Tomomitsu appearing on stage.
It was also announced that a pop-up store, "Pierrot Magical Girl Series MEMORIAL POP UP STORE in Ikebukuro," will open at Ikebukuro P'PARCO (Toshima-ku, Tokyo) from January 24th to February 8th, 2026.
Ota said, "It's been decided that 'Once More Forever' will be screened. The story is about Yu returning to being a normal girl and spending her summer vacation as a normal elementary school student, when she finds a kitten that looks just like Nega and Posi. From there, Yu and Toshio see a poster of Mami put up. It's exciting. You can enjoy this movie 'Once More Forever' no matter how many times you watch it. I'm sure there will be people who are seeing it for the first time, or who haven't seen it in a while, so please take the time to take another look at it at the screening. I'm looking forward to the screening too."
Mizushima commented, "What incredible energy! Thanks to the energy that Creamy Mami has, I'm able to meet you all again. This is the world's first OVA sequel to a TV series. I'm so happy that we can all enjoy a work from over 40 years ago in the cinema. Let's enjoy it together♪ From Otomo Toshio."
Mochizuki commented, "More than 41 years since its release?! Seriously?! It was one of the first OVAs, starting with 'Dallos,' so I think I enjoyed working on it because it had a different feel to TV anime. In the middle of production, I bumped into a producer from Studio Pierrot at the station, and he showed me a note saying, 'I have three ideas for subtitles for the video,' and I remember randomly choosing 'Eternal Once More' from the list, and that was the one that was decided. I liked how things were a bit vague at the time."
