Comic Market (Comiket) 107, Japan's largest doujinshi fair, was held on December 30th and 31st at Tokyo Big Sight (Koto Ward, Tokyo), attracting approximately 300,000 visitors over the two days. The number of visitors on both the 30th and 31st was approximately 150,000. This is an increase of approximately 50,000 people compared to the previous Comiket 106, which attracted approximately 250,000 visitors over the two days.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the first Comiket event on December 21, 1975. The year from this summer's Comiket 106 to next summer's Comiket 108 has been designated the "50th Anniversary Year," and commemorative projects are being implemented. At Comiket 107, a message board corner was set up to commemorate the 50th anniversary, and covers of past catalogs were also on display.
Comiket 107 will have approximately 23,700 spaces for participating circles over the two days. As with this summer's Comiket 106, East Halls 1-3 are unavailable due to major renovations at Tokyo Big Sight, resulting in approximately 6,000 fewer spaces than last winter's Comiket 105. In order to increase the number of participating circles even slightly, circles will also be located in East Hall 8. The layout of corporate booths has been revised, with part of West Hall 4 allocated as an indoor cosplay area.
The first Comiket was held in December 1975, with 32 circles and an estimated 700 people attending. It has been held in Harumi, Tokyo, Makuhari, Chiba, and elsewhere, and since Comiket 50 in 1996, it has been held at Tokyo Big Sight. Comiket 97, held in December 2019, attracted a record-breaking 750,000 visitors over four days. Comiket 106, held on August 16th and 17th, attracted approximately 250,000 visitors over two days. Comiket 108 will be held at Tokyo Big Sight on August 15th and 16th, 2026.
