It has been announced that JR East will collaborate with the third season of the TV anime " Jujutsu Kaisen ," based on the popular manga by Gege Akutami that was serialized in "Weekly Culling Game Jump" (Shueisha). Titled "Jujutsu Kaisen x JR East - East Japan Kaiyu," a Tohoku Shinkansen E5 series train will be decorated with designs of characters including Yuji Itadori, Megumi Fushiguro Megumi, Yuta Okkotsu, Choso, and Zenin Naoya, and will begin operating on December 17th.
By installing the audio AR app "Locatone" and visiting designated spots in the Tokyo metropolitan area, the Tohoku Shinkansen section, and the Sendai area, you can hear the original voices of Yuji Itadori, Megumi Fushiguro, Yuta Okkotsu, and Choso. There will also be a limited number of original acrylic key chains to give away to people who visit at least one spot in the Tokyo metropolitan area or Sendai, or five spots on the Tohoku Shinkansen section.
There will also be a stamp rally using the app "Ekitag." Download the app and collect stamps at stations in four areas under the jurisdiction of JR East to receive stamps featuring scenes from the third season, "Culling Game Part 1," as well as commemorative stamps featuring characters. There will also be a campaign where you can enter a lottery to win an original poster or a poster signed by Junya Enoki , who plays Yuji Itadori .
Limited edition original posters and character panels will be installed at Sendai Station, Iwanuma Station, Tagajyo Station, Morioka Station, and Shin-Aomori Station.
" Jujutsu Kaisen" is a manga that was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha) from March 2018 to September 2024. The story follows high school student Yuji Itadori, who is thrown into a world of battles over curses after a powerful "cursed object" is unsealed. The comic series has sold over 100 million copies in total.
The first season of the TV anime aired from October 2020 to March 2021, and the second season, "Kaigyoku/Gyokusetsu/ Shibuya Incident," aired from July to December 2023. The third season, "Culling Game Part 1," will be broadcast nationwide simultaneously on the MBS/TBS anime block "Super Animeism TURBO" every Thursday at 12:26 a.m. starting January 8, 2026.
